This dress is actually not that flattering. The model is taller and slimmer as a "plus" than I am, so she carries it off better. But it's like that photo--this will make you look BIGGER in the middle. Look at the photo carefully--see how the sleeves widens you right at that middle point? Yeah. The fabric is not flowy, it has some heft/stiffness/roughness to it, so it will add bulk. Now, if you're on the "lighter" side of the Plus spectrum, you might carry it off. If not, you will just look fatter. Your shoulders will look narrower and your waist thicker. This is not generally the look we go for, is it? :DI've kept it due to just not being able to resist that color and having paid very little on a sale. I keep hoping it will magically look less worse. hahah I know, dumb of me, but I really love that blue. I guess to enjoy that blue, I'll just live with looking fatter. For those unfamiliar with London Times sizing, it runs one size bigger than some other designers. The sizing is similar to Robbie Bee and Tiana B, so if you're an 18w with those, you'll be an 18w with this one. I'm an 18W with London Times, but a 22W with Calvin Klein and a 20W with Anne Klein, and a 16W with INC (Macy's) slacks and a 2W in Karen Kane dresses.Again, this fabric is heavy-ish. Not good for August heat (and Sept if you're in the deep south). Should be fine for early fall in places where it's in the 70s or 80s then.Like the dress. The gold tie broke but I still like itThis dress was very shapeless and hung like a sack. Returned it.
