Maxim was not a great conductor, but he did do some great recordings. The greatest of these was the orginal first recording of the 15th, which is still the best. No even vague clue why that has never been released on CD. This later one misses a bit of the angst and the eccentricty, but is still streets ahead of the oposition. Hard to find, however, and it is over 80mins, so some CD players don't like it!
